About Coach Peterson

Coach Peterson started coaching high school tennis in the 2002-2003 school year in Bakersfield, CA. Over the years, he has had a successful coaching record in CA with 286 wins and 85 losses. He successfully took over a girls' tennis program that had never had a win, and took them to back-to-back CIF titles in years 3 and 4, with a 43-3 record over the last 2 years. As a coach, he has won 15 team district titles. As a player, he was an accomplished doubles player with 2 district titles and a semi-final finish beyond district in his senior year. In high school, his team finished second in the state.

Coach Peterson was on an academic full-ride scholarship in Mathematics in his undergraduate studies. During these years, he also gained an interest in the science behind how the body works.

While working on his credentials, Coach Peterson obtained his first Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction.

​Coach Peterson achieved his next Master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention. He also obtained national certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a Performance Enhancement Specialist.

Coach Peterson did half of his Athletic Training Degree at the University of Idaho. He stopped after he suffered a broken femur 3 times and was unable to do clinicals.

Coach Peterson stated a P.H.D program in Kinesiology in 2022, and is currently working on finishing this degree to this day.

About Coach Paulino

Coach Paulino's tennis journey began her freshman year at Conroe High School, where she first picked up a racket and started learning the ropes of the game. She continued to play throughout high school, dedicating four years to honing her skills and nurturing her passion for tennis. Once she moved on to college, she took her love for the sport with her and became a part of the club tennis team, further advancing her abilities on the court. She also ventured into the USTA summer league, gaining valuable experience and pushing herself to improve. What's truly special is that she has had the opportunity to give back to the tennis community by coaching little kids during the summer, sharing her enthusiasm for the game with the next generation. Her tennis career has been a rewarding journey of skill development and positively impacting others through this wonderful sport.

Coach Paulino obtained her Associate of Science degree at Lone Star Montgomery College. Coach Paulino played tennis in the intermural tennis club both years while at Lone Star. Playing tennis alongside fellow students provided a wonderful outlet for physical activity and camaraderie. This institution instilled a sense of determination and a network of friends as well as mentors.

​Coach Paulino obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Texas A&M University. The vibrant campus community and rich traditions of Aggieland made college memorable and meaningful. Along with her academic pursuits, Coach Paulino continued her journey pursuing tennis by joining the intermural club on campus. Texas A&M's supportive environment and academic rigor had a positive impact on her growth as a student in Psychology. It's where traditions, community, and academic excellence come together.
